A Tarot deck is a collection of 78 illustrated cards. It is divided into 22 Major Arcana cards, which symbolize deep spiritual challenges and conditions affecting your life at the time of your reading and 56 Minor Arcana cards, which tell stories about everyday events you are likely to encounter on your journey, such as finding a job, falling in love, acquiring property and the people who will be important to you in the course of these events unfolding. Arcana is latin for "secrets".

A reading, or spread, can be made up of minor or major cards, or a combination of both. The meanings connected to a card, are considered in relation to the card's position in the spread. There are many different spreads which can be used for various purposes. Likewise, there are hundreds of different Tarot decks available with a variety of artwork to please individual tastes. For telephone readings, Charles currently uses "The Universal Tarot" by Italian artist Roberto De Angelis. This is a colourful art deck with standard Tarot images and symbolism. Charles uses a variety of spreads for telephone readings depending on the nature of the call. A business or work related reading may only require a simple three card spread, read in depth. A relationship reading will often require as many as nine cards, read in relation to each other, to obtain a clear picture of the dynamics and progress of a relationship.

Psychic Tarot, requires the development of the ability to transcend the traditional and text book meanings associated with each card in favour of intuitively "hearing" and "seeing" the messages hidden in a tarot spread. Charles Divine is a Master of Psychic Tarot.

For readings in person, Charles will offer you a selection of Tarot decks with various styles of artwork for you to choose from. Charles will then guide you through your reading, using the choice of Tarot cards which are most visually pleasing to you and will quite naturally "speak" to your innermost being in a way beyond words.

Correct use of the Tarot is a very powerful and effective way to harmonize your life with the natural flow of energies and events which are gifted to you and surround you every day.
